When will the Outlook integration be available to all users?   The Outlook app is becoming almost unusable.  I know it has been in “Beta” for months, but honestly this is really becoming a problem.

I accidentally filed e-mails into the wrong matter. How do I change it to the correct matter?

A Smokeball representative shared a link with me for Smokeball Bill, which they mentioned is free for CLA members. The link prompted me to create an account, but now I’m trying to download the software to test it, and I can’t seem to find where to download it. Could someone please point me in the right direction? I know this topic has been asked elsewhere before in past years and so forth, but I was wondering if Smokeball had any update on future official compatability with ARM and if any Smokeball users could share their most recent experiences using Smokeball on ARM? Have any users run into any issues where there was a feature not working properly? I am excited because I know what held me back previously is that scanners weren’t ARM comptability with the Microsoft Pro first rolled out ARM, but ScanSnap has now pushed out compatability with a December 2025 update.

Hi Smokeball buddies,Has there been any discussion or requests to add a place in Smokeball for a client photo, similar to a Profile pic so to speak? Also was wondering if there could be a “mediator” field similar to how there are fields for judge, guardian. 

In the Smokeball training modules, there are various references to “precedents”. Can someone please confirm whether precedents are templates and/or if the precedent section and the TemplateLab are the same thing?   

Hello,I am trying to update our firm logo so that our new design is reflected on our invoices. I go to firm settings in billing and select “Edit Logo” I then click save and when I go to create a new invoice, our old design still pops us. 

Can someone please provide a specific explanation as to what the document containers are and what their purpose is? It would also be helpful if someone could provide some tips and best practices as to how to get the most use out of this tool. 

We are using the surcharge feature and are charging convenience charges to our clients for any type of payment that incurs an additional fee. However, we do not add the surcharge/convenience fee on top of the retainer payments since they’re so large, we just take it out on the back end. Is there a way to have Fee Wise or Smokeball pay automatically add that charge to the fees section of that respective client? Just like we would with InfoTrack charges?If that’s not a possibility, what is anyone else doing? Just manually add those fees to each individual client at the month’s end with the statement from Fee Wise? This is a bit tedious, especially since Fee Wise’s statement doesn’t list the client name, just the transaction ID.I would be curious to know what others are doing in this regard.

In a matter, when entering Medical Provider Invoices and amounts, is there a way to attach or link the invoice received (.pdf/jpg) etc stored in the matter?

Hi,Is there anyway you can create an auto filling due date within a precedent? I know I can include todays date or the document creation date but is there any way to create a precedent that auto fills in today + 7 days for example?Thanks

Hello Community! I am with a firm that is newly adopting Smokeball. We are still planning to use Tabs3 for the short term, while we get up to speed, and will likely be switching to Quickbooks later to make the time importing easier.In the short term, we will be exporting time entries from Smokeball (where all attorneys will be tracking their time) and then importing it into Tabs3, where we will do our billing and invoicing.Are there any other firms that currently do this? I would love to connect with you just to understand how to do this process smoothly and easily. Any tips would be appreciated.

We recently transitioned to Smokeball and need help some actions that don’t occur very often.  We had a client pay by credit card for two invoices. The clients transaction was cancelled.  How do we reverse the payment and return the invoice top unpaid status.

Is there a way to mark a calendar event as private in Smokeball?  

Is there a way to run an accounts receivable reporter per client? I need a list of Invoices (date and amount charged) and payments (date and amount paid), preferably with a balance due amount at the bottom, is that a thing?

I hope this reaches the UI/UX team eventually. The way the matter windows are set up is causing unnecessary frustration. Unless you are using a vertical monitor, the current layout makes no sense. The files tab floats over the matter details and can only be moved vertically. This makes it so you can’t really look at both the matter details and the files at the same time. You have to drag the files tab all the way to the bottom get a good look at the matter details or drag the files tab all the way up to get a good look at all the files.With the files tab dragged to the middle of the screen you can see only a few matter detail lines and files with out scrolling. Some of our older employees zoom in on their screens which makes this even worse as they can only see a few lines and files with out having to scroll. Not being able to simultaneously view the matter details and list of files is causing unnecessary frustration. . Simply having the matter details and files

I have a WC case that has been going on for years that we get regular attorney fees for. I was told before to put them under transactions tab. At one point can I apply all those fees? Do I need to run out a bill and apply them or do they just sit there until we settle the case? 

Is there a way to get your appointments on the calendar to pop up on the screen (besides just the little red “1” at top of screen)?  So they are more or less an alert that you notice whether you are on the screen or not...or make a noise..anything!?

Is there a way to pop out the calendar in a separate window? Similar to the time and billing pop out?

I would like to connect Smokeball client deposit transactions to the trust bank account in Xero.Currently, we manually create a contact and assign a general ledger account to each transaction in Xero. I want to start charging people a fee if they FTA to a free consult or cancel less than 24 hours ahead of time. Can you put a “hold” on a person's card for this purpose with SB Pay? 

Good afternoon, can someone please tell me how I can run a report of all my attorney time to get an annual total of billable time and non-billable time in one report without any dicounts or write offs?  I have tried to run this report under “Billed Fees & Expenses” and “Time Entries” and none of the numbers I get add up to what my dashboard says for billable time.  It appears I have to run two reports?  Or maybe I can only run an annual total for hours that have been billed?  What if you are holding a bill?I used to be able to do this in the firms previous software, but for some reason I am having trouble.   I just want something that tells me how many total billable hours (whether invoiced or not) and total administrative (non-billable) hours I have done this year.  I just want raw numbers initially, without breaking out what was written off, what was invoiced, what was collected. Thanks so much.
