Smokeball Team

By now you’ve no doubt seen the brand new gradient and logo that is part of our spiffy brand refresh. As we continue to grow and serve our firms, the refresh continues to orient us to our north star: making your difficult jobs as legal professionals easier and more efficient, so you can focus on what really matters.

“What really matters” is widely encompassing on purpose, of course, but if you know nothing about Smokeball, you know that we love getting granular and into the nitty gritty. We thought about this for many, many months, and across three whole continents, to boot.

For us, what really matters is:

  • the work you do for clients that leads to beneficial dispositions
  • having time to connect with your clients
  • being able to rest, so you can better keep
  • devoting your best self to your family, friends, and community
  • practicing securely and ethically
  • continuing to learn (like from our CLEs!) so that you can keep refining your craft and growing as an attorney

When we thought of all of that together - helping you help your clients, maintain work-life balance, and forever hone your craft - we saw it as powering people-law. The client that walks in the door isn’t just a Bank Robbery or Contentious Divorce or a MedMal Delayed Diagnosis; you see them as a whole person, family, sometimes community in addition to the case. You’ve no doubt seen a client’s relative cry over what happened to them, or their siblings pooling money to pay for retainers, or a GoFundMe with $10 donations from a church that believes in your work helping their member. You see people on the front lines of the most stressful time of their life every day. And you stand right next to them and hold their hand the whole way. Yes, there are late invoices and some trust accounts to diligently manage along the way, but the people you serve are the heart of your business.

That is what we see and feel when we put “powering people law” to paper for our brand refresh. Now that we’ve had the logos and colors updated for a little bit, we want to hear from you. Hit the poll, but if you have time to reply, we love reading your thoughts (and, yes, we have entire meetings devoted to reviewing and discussing your comments here!).

What does Powering People Law mean to you?

Those of you that have already talked to your account managers or trainers or onboarding specialists about your impressions and insights, thank you. We appreciate you, and for some of our frequent fliers, we know you on a first name basis here thanks to your thoughtful and nuanced perspectives and contributions. Thank you for letting us be part of your legal practice, and for being generous in providing feedback for us.
