It would be great if Messages, Memos and Tasks would appear in a chronological order when looking at the history of the file. We uses all of those features, yet if it is not included in the All Files, it is impossible to see a chronological history of the file in one place.  Definitely makes use of memos and messages less enticing and less easy to use. They are also not searchable and should be.Often times a pull down menu is not alphabetized (ie running various reports) - understanding folks have different preferences, but there should always be an option for your preference to sort!

There are a couple of old threads about the “New Outlook” and Smokeball, but since they have old information and some refer to very specific issues, I decided to start a new one.  This is to help myself and perhaps others navigate the differences between Smokeball on the new outlook and the old one, given the fact that Microsoft now seems to be actively moving away from Classic Outlook such that it is now less functional than the new Outlook.Here is my summary of the differences between the Smokeball experience on the two Outlooks.  Please correct me and update me:Linking multiple emails to a matter:  You can now do this on both old and new outlook.  New outlook provides suggested matters to link prior to your beginning a search, making the process faster in many instances. As per subject line, can we see who voided an invoice? I see who and when it was finalized and when voided but trying to figure out who did it...

The 9.4 changelog included a very small snippet about the creation of a Power BI connector for SB: Version 9.4 Release Notes – Smokeball Support Hub, The information available (Power BI Integration – Smokeball Support Hub) is minimally focused on establishing the connection between SB and Power BI, a data visualization application. The article explains “Since Power BI reports can be highly complex, building custom reports and dashboards falls outside the scope of Smokeball Support.” Therefore, I would like to pool information here regarding this new resource on this thread.

is there an option to close multiple leads at a time, i do not use the in built form or intake but manually add leads into the file and via zapier. Is there a way to select a bulk action to close the leads rather that 1 by 1. 

I have tried to begin using Smokeball but got frustrated several weeks ago.  I came back today and found it even more difficult than  I did in the spring.  How can I learn how to use it?

I created a final invoice for 1/1/26-6/1/26. It remains unpaid. Am I able to void and create a new invoice from 1/1/26-current?

Is there a way to send out an email to all of the clients that are managed by one case manager? 

I am in SB looking at a mess of emails imported from a thumb drive provided by client.  Many have attachments, but I cannot view the attachments unless I click on each email.  Is there a way attachments can be shown under the email?  I was thought maybe there was, but perhaps the problem is that these emails were imported and not created by me in my file or outlook integration.I was thrilled to see I could select the whole batch and make a single PDF, but it does not seem to capture the attachments when I do this.  I thought maybe that was because I cannot see them without opening the email.  It’s late, but hopefully someone understands what I am looking to do.  Perhaps a separate tool is needed?

Is there a way to bill for emails sent after the fact? I have a bunch of emails in a matter that I forgot to assign to Smokeball and did a bulk assignment from Outlook. Is there any way to bill for those emails at this point?  Similar question for Word documents.  Is there a way to bill for a document created after the fact? 

Some of the fields that are included in the Court documents do not appear in the list of fields available to choose from - for example, I am trying to create a document that refers to Applicant and Respondent in a Family Law matter.  I can see in the field for each in the Initiating Application, but that field does not exist in the list of fields when I am creating a precedent (I have started the precedent in Family Law - Property and Children).I seem to be able to copy and paste the field from the Initiating Application precedent, but that is not an efficient way to work.  Is there a list of where all fields can be found somewhere?

When I send an email message from a matter within Smokeball, the email dumps into the general email area (this is at the bottom where all files, favorites, documents etc… are).  Is there a way to tell the program to save the email to a specific folder within the email section of that area?

I’m looking for advice on how to better streamline the Closing Statement functionality in Smokeball.Right now, I still rely on my own Excel sheets to calculate adjustments in the way that’s customary for attorneys in my area (Long Island, NY; NYC).My main challenges are: I can’t seem to change the calculation from 365 to 360 days (very minor issue) Smokeball’s rounding differs from local practice, so I end up having to calculate the adjustments separately and modify them manually. This defeats the purpose of being able to quickly balance with another attorney—bringing me right back to my customized Excel sheet. I haven’t found a way to create one fully functional Closing Statement without using multiple forms or manual edits. Ideally, I’d love to see more Smokeball template options for Closing Statements, Disbursement Sheets, and Net Funding Sheets (specific to New York and Upstate New York—though this may apply to other areas too). It would be great if these included a buyer/selle

How can I obtain a Summary of my activity since August 17 to present? 

Do you find it too easy to create duplicate contacts in Smokeball? Are you struggling to identify duplicates or find yourself putting the wrong contacts onto your Matters or Invoices because there are too many “versions” of the same contact? We want to hear from you! Smokeball is currently investigating methods of tidying up pre-existing duplicate contacts and ways of making it easier to prevent their creation in the first place. can someone please advise if there is a way to filter the leads and matters by the type of matter. it seems odd that the system forces you to select this type at every turn but the filtering options in the list doesn’t have it as a field, am i doing something wrong ? 

We are new to smokeball and want to know if we have a client with multiple matters, is there a way to create the “master” client and then the various matters branch off of the same client?  Hope this makes sense.  Thank you!
