It looks like client on demand webinars have moved and do not appear to be available anywhere. They used to be available through the support tab. The references to webinars (it looks like they are called Events in Community) do not contain links to the on demand client webinars--at least all of the ones I tried did not work.

How do we “tag” or “link” companion cases in SB? For example, i have a case that is a worker’s compensation matter AND a motor vehicle accident. How can I make sure they are linked and I can post one memo on one and it will post to the other if i want without having to go to the specific matter?

Is there a way to CC someone when emailing through the portal? Also, Is there a way for my signature block to be automatically populated, or do I have to type it each time? Thank you

I noticed that my SOL and medical records widgets were no longer accessible, and when I went to customize, their category, “dates and deadlines,” had disappeared. Does anyone know why this would happen? My staff role has not changed. I also submitted a support request. 

Do any of you send draft invoices to your attorneys for review?  If so, what process do you use?

For our firm’s malpractice renewal application, we have to submit the amount of time we work on various groups of matter types as a percentage of the whole. Each year this requires me to take a couple of hours to export the SB time entries report to CSV, convert the matter column data to matter type only, create a pivot table and group the data according to the malpractice carrier’s preferences.I’m thinking of making a feature request for this data to be groupable in SB so I can re-use it every year for this or for reporting. I may also want to know how criminal law as a whole is performing versus the individual matter sub-types. I’m imagining and outline/indent format similar to this: 

When Smokeball did their latest update, they took away the Matter Infor: Internal Reference. This future used to be available when setting up a “Lead.” Now, it is only an option when converting the Lead to a Matter. I need to be able to add the Internal Reference number prior to opening a case matter. Part of my role in the Law Firm I work for, I am the one builds the file and hands it off to the paralegal. Would it be possible to add this feature back for as a LEAD? 

Is there a way to save emails to a particular folder within the matter rather than just the attachments? I have subfolders for emails and other types of documents and it is time consuming to save then click and reallocate in the matter.

Hello all,  This problem came up to me when i used adobe to redact a pdf and wanted to save it directly into smoke ball (the originals are already there) but to do this without having to save to a new folder then go and import. Is there a way to save this “as new” to the original PDF or matter? The chrome extension does not work since it is being used through the adobe application. Is there an adobe integration?  Thank you so much! 

Is there a way to narrow a search within a matter to just one type of document.  For example, can I just search for PDFs or Word documents saved in a matter?

When I try to attach a file from Smokeball to an email, it won’t let me attach it.  Anyone know what the issue might be?

Good morning. I am a newbie to Smokeball and like it so far. But I have just created a few forms and have found only one. The other two are missing. Is there a way to search for forms? I feel so stupid. :(

I do not see the Smokeball bar in my Outlook screen.  If I send an email I see Smokeball and can profile the email.  I have checked my settings and everything looks right.  Any suggestions?Thanks,Terry

Has anyone had issues with clients who use Hotmail not being able to respond to emails? We have noticed a trend with Hotmail users receiving bounce-backs when attempting to simply respond to an email, even after being added to safe-sender list in Outlook. We were wondering if it may be a Smokeball/Hotmail compatibility issue.

I settled a case last month. Now the case events (like the trial date and the case scheduling deadlines) are distracting and can cause confusion about my schedule. The case remains active as we finalize various tasks before entry of final orders, so I don’t want to close and archive the file.What’s the best practice for events on the calendar that appear to show I’m busy for a week when I am really free that week? I could delete - but that seems wrong. I could go through and note “cancel”, but that’s work.What’s the best practice for all of the items on my to-do list? I could mark “complete” but that seems wrong.

How do you attach an email received to two matters?

Hi, so not every message gets related to a case and sometimes one person will call over and over again. So I’m not constantly sending the same phone message again is there a way I can see what I have already sent before?

Is there a way to share the payment plan info with the client? So they can see how many payments they have made/are remaining?

When I add documents such as a file note template to the document container and they are categorised as ‘other’, is there a way to access these documents in every matter like how you can access letter templates under ‘letter/fax’ in an open matter? Or do they need to be categorised as a letter to be accessed easily from the letter/fax button. 

some setting has changed and smokeball is now blocking downloads using the extension. 

Since we can save files directly to matters in smokeball, we have no longer been saving them to the computer drive. So, my question is if we need to upload a file to a website (like Chart swap) is there an easier way to do that rather than saving it to the computer to upload from there? It does not let us drag to files to upload either and the only export option I can find is to export to the computer drive.

I am trying to do a Balance Sheet using the SB precedent and there is no where to type my information.  The picture below shows how I am opening the document and there is no where to type in the assets etc, however, if i hit the little backwards P thingy i get fields to type assets etc into but when i type in them then turn the little P thingy off the data i entered disappears.  

If an attorney decides to change timekeeper rates after numerous entries have already been entered, is there a way to change the rates without having to go into each entry?

I have created dozens of documents and automated them. Recently I have a weird issue.I created an automated word document. The automation works fine. However, this particular document when I hit save and close it does not save to the matter. it saves to a temp file. This is the only file that does it and I am not sure why. If I hit save as it shows document and when I save it saves to the matter. Most of the time I just open the document and make whatever tweaks I need then hit save and close.Any ideas?
