For our firm’s malpractice renewal application, we have to submit the amount of time we work on various groups of matter types as a percentage of the whole. Each year this requires me to take a couple of hours to export the SB time entries report to CSV, convert the matter column data to matter type only, create a pivot table and group the data according to the malpractice carrier’s preferences.

I’m thinking of making a feature request for this data to be groupable in SB so I can re-use it every year for this or for reporting. I may also want to know how criminal law as a whole is performing versus the individual matter sub-types. I’m imagining and outline/indent format similar to this:

It’s sort of a cousin to the ask I had last month, asking for something akin to this, but I was trying to evaluate flat fee billings versus time worked that was unbilled.  Similar data fields used: date range, time worked, time billed, amount paid, matter type….
