Pay a cost from multiple matters

Can you print an expense check and charge multiple matters?

We have a bill from a mediator that needs to be split between 3 matters (same accident, different people/households involved so 3 related matters).

I know you can deposit a trust check to multiple matters, but I have no recollection and can’t find anything about splitting costs between related matters.

Thank you, but I’m not trying to create a check for 1 matter with multiple expenses.  I’m trying to create a check for 1 expense billed to multiple matters.

The article above does include paying across multiple matters as well.

Ah...so you enter the amount paid by each matter first.

However, you can’t enter the expense of $750 and show the quantity as 1/3 or .333333 to equal $250 for each matter.

You go to each separate matter and enter a total quantity of 1 and cost of $250, then go to the time/fees section, expenses tab, choose those expenses from the multiple matters and print the check.

I was hoping I could show on each matter invoice that the total cost was $750, but they were only paying $250 each.
