In the last month we’ve built you some new matter types and layouts, continued to update our forms and precedents and updated registration fees and court rates that have changed with the new financial year. Beneficiaries in Estate Planning matters
In case you missed
Smokeball, Precedents Online, and Private Wealth Law Will precedents are all now set up to use the new Beneficiaries and Will Details.

New Administrative Tribunals matter types
This month we released a new Administrative Tribunals matter category with the creation of NCAT (NSW), QCAT(QLD) and VCAT(VIC) matter types. Learn how to use the suite of fully automated forms that we’ve built for each matter type.

Family Law Form Updates
The Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia have released changes to the following forms. They’re all available in the Precedent Library in Smokeball:

Application for consent orders

Affidavit – Family law and child support proceedings (replaces previous “Affidavit” form)

Affidavit – General Federal Law and Migration proceedings (replaces previous “Affidavit” form)

Notice of Address for Service

Affidavit: Translation of Marriage Certificate

Counselling certificate for applicants married less than 2 years
Fee & Rate Updates
With the new financial year comes updated fees and rates for courts, exchanges, registries and other bodies. Across all states we’ve updated:
- Land Registry fee
- PEXA rates
- Court interest rates
Water Rates for SA and NSW Stamp Duty are being updated now. I’ll circle back to let you know when they’re live.
Report Updates
We’ve made some quality of life tweaks to help you get the most out of our reports:

Client - Full List - Added the Matter Status filter.

Matter- Full List - Report script has been updated to improve performance.

Last but not least, in Smokeball Billing we’ve set up some additional functionality to help you drill into your income and fee data:

Billed Fees & Disbursements - Summary - Show billed fees and disbursements against areas of law, matter types, clients, timekeepers, referrers, or persons responsible.

Income Allocations - Summary - Run income allocation against matter type, area of law, person responsible, timekeeper or client.

Income Allocations -Details - Further break down data from the Income Allocations - Summary Report into a matter, invoice or payment level.
