Hello,

I am trying to work out if I can write one cheque that will take all the amounts for say for example 6 clients. Can I do that?

I interpret your question as asking whether it is possible to account for trust transfers made against multiple invoices where you bulk up the transfers together into one check or EFT. If so, the answer is yes, it is possible. When you do your reconciliation you will need to be able to identify which booked trust transfers to operating correspond to the bulk trust transfer on your bank statement because you will have to check off each individual trust item you booked to Smokeball as transferred to operating. In my office we use the below log to track this information. Each bulk transfer is assigned a Group # and totaled. If you do not use a method like this then I think 95%+ of firms will have have reconciliations off within 2 months.

ELECTRONIC FUNDS TRANSFER (EFT) LOG
Client Name Matter No. SB Book Date  Amount   Purpose  Grp # Grp Total From Acc. To Acc. Pers. Auth. EFT Done Init. Comp.

Hi @Smokeball.Anonymous

It is possible to do this.
Under the invoice section, click on the Tab Trust to Office
This is where you will be creating your Bulk Transfer
It will allow you to select all the matters you would like, and then press Pay!

See this Support Article that explains the process in further detail:

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions! 😊

Hi @Smokeball.Anonymous ,

To add to the brilliant answers already provided by @JKibler and @Melania , it is also useful to make sure that Trust and Office Cheque is activated in Billing settings > Accounts > Trust & Office Payment Cheque.

After following Melania’s steps and clicking the Pay button, also make sure to select the Print Manually option to enter in the cheque number if required.
