While the current intake form for estate planning permits two people, a couple for example, to complete separate intakes via links sent to them; the process is flawed.
The first person or client to complete the intake form will have their details uploaded automatically to the ‘Wills Details’ area of Smokeball but the second person’s details are not uploaded. It also appears that the same form is use for both people which causes confusion with pre-filled data when sent to clients.
I understand that the issue likely arises because the intake form does not have the capability to bifurcate when the second person’s details are entered.
When will this issue be fixed or what can be done to solve this for us practitioners now.

Hi @rlake, Thank you for raising this. I completely understand the issue and agree with you. While I don’t have an exact timeline for when a fix will be available, please know that this issue is on our list of priorities.
Unfortunately, at the moment there is no elegant workaround to the problem. The only option would be to duplicate the Smokeball form and create a separate section for the second person. Although this section won’t be mapped to any Smokeball fields, it will allow you to capture all the information in the Intake PDF, which you can then enter into the Smokeball fields.
Ben Enviah Intake and Communicate Product Owner
Hi Ben - Not sure what you mean by “ duplicate the Smokeball form and create a separate section for the second person”. Can you elaborate pelase?
Not a problem,
I’ve had a closer look at the form and on second glance, the separate section idea will be rather involved for this type of form.
Therefore, if you simply duplicate the Smokeball form using the duplicate form option in the menu to the right of the form (Image 1), you can create an identical form called “QLD estate planning - Will - Second client” (Image 2). Then, where you see a mapped field you will need to change it to a standard field (Image 3).
This would then mean you could send this form to the second person and have the information captured in the Intake PDF.
As I mentioned, this is not elegant or ideal, but it is the only workaround I can think of.
If it’s still not clear, I’m happy to reach out and arrange a time over Zoom to go through it.
