Is there a way to customize Dashboard so I only see the files I am working on? As of now, in NEW MATTERS, I see files where I am not the assigned attorney. I would like to only see the files I am working on.

Along these lines, on MATTERS WITH NO ACTIVITY, there are files here that have no activity for 2 years.  Two questions for this dashboard: 1. How do I view only the files assigned to me?; and 2. How do I remove these files that are over 2 years old?

Thank you.

Hi Joe! You sure can customize the way you view your matters! This will not affect the way anyone at the firm views their matters.

In addition to using that menu to filter out closed matters, and matters that you are not working on, you can also right click on the row containing all of the columns, and decide what columns you would like to see:

Emily, thank you for the response.  However, I am looking for filtering on the DASHBOARD menu.

By designating matters as closed, and filtering them out, you can prevent them from showing on the screen. If you need to know how to mark matters as closed:

  1. open the matter
  2. double click on the 1st row in the matter details section, the INFO row
  3. set the matter as closed, and set the closing date

Understood.   But some of these files are still open, just not being worked on by me.  I do not want to close an open matter. In essence, I just want to see matters that I am working on listed on my DASHBOARD.

Joe, you can customize your dashboard to see what widgets that may be important to you.

Here is an article that will go over customizing your dashboard. https://support.smokeball.com/hc/en-us/articles/7310985244695-Customize-your-dashboard-with-widgets

If you do not want to see matters with no activity, you can always eliminate that widget and replace it with something that makes sense to you.

  1. on the dashboard tab, select Customize in the right hand corner
  2. when you click on Widget all available widgets will appear, and each one contains an explanation of what it will show you

Many of the Matter related widgets do not have a user filter to omit matters that you are not working on. You could, however, remove the widget Matters with No Activity from your dashboard. You can submit a feature suggestion if you would like to see new Widgets available for your dashboard.

To submit a feature suggestion you can click on the "Contact Us" button under the Support tab in Smokeball or on the support page and choose Feature Suggestion as the ticket type. Make sure to not only say what the suggested feature is, but how it will help solve a problem with your current process. Also, please include what it is you are trying to accomplish as there may be another way to do so. The more details, the better.

@Joe in answer to your specific questions, no, there is no way to only see your matters in dashboard and no, there is no way to filter the matters with no activity into tranches. I have previously submitted feature requests for these items.
