How do I add an existing contact to a matter? I am trying to add the Chief Clerk of the Court to my “Courthouse” contact card. When I open the Courthouse contact card, the list of contacts comes up except for the one contact I need but yet, when i open the individuals contact card, and look at what matters he is associated with, it is empty. Is there a way to open a contact and have a choice/tab to “add this contact to matters”
Hi Joe!
Sorry for the delay on this. I am pretty sure I have met with you and shown you how to do this since this post, but for others that are wondering, I will still reply.
- Open the courthouse contact card
- Choose ADD ANOTHER PERSON
- Search for the existing contact in the first name field only.

Thank you Sara. I believe you are correct. You and I did speak about this. Another question I have is, does a Judge get added the same way, or does the Judge have his/her separate contact card?
One more question I have. On one of my cases, the Defendant’s counsel was substituted out. It looks to me like I removed this attorney from the matter. However, when I go to send an email, the outgoing attorneys name still appears in the drop down list. But I do not see him listed in the matter. If I open his contact card, he is listed as being associated with that matter. How do I go about removing him from the matter?
Sorry. One more question. I’ve attached a screen shot of this contact, Mendy. He works for the Court. How come the full address does not appear on his contact card?
Hi Joe,
Re the Judge, they have their own separate contact card in the case details.
added Objector as a Client option on Guardianship and Conservatorship matter types.

As to you still seeing the removed attorney’s email in the list, we would need to see the matter. Please contact support.
For the address not showing completely for the contact, that address is for the home/residential address of that contact if they are separately involved in another matter as an individual instead of as a contact at an organization. My guess is that someone started to fill out his residential address with the court address, but did not complete this.
