We represent children as attorney for the child for the courts.  We select the “Child Representation” matter under “Family” law matters list.

All good, except in matter searches when we filter by attorney or staff person - none of these Child Representation matters appear in the lists even though the attorney and staff are properly identified in the “Matter info” tab of the file.

Our workaround has been to take the extra step and tag these matters to the attorney and involved staff.

Is there a fix or was this an intentional outcome of the SB team?

Anyone else have this issue?

Hi There,

Great question. It could be the filters you have applied in the show open section ( i added the image as to where below). Perhaps its filtering by just a certain state, a certain type of mater status, ie open, or another set of tags applied to filter by that and only that.

If an individual is designated as attorney responsible under matter info, they will show up under the group for sort by attorney. You would not need to add a tag. If they are tagged in the matter, they will show under group by staff. You are doing it right there by tagging it in that case and it is working as intended. Person Assisting will not show up under group by staff unless you tag them to a matter.

Definitely reach out further if you want to book a session and we can chat about it or further comment on this post. https://calendly.com/smokeball-training/continuing-smokeball-education-cse-15-min-qa

Thanks Zach.  Yeah, I’ll set up a 15 minute session with the SB team. All of the usual suspects -- the search filters, etc. -- aren’t the issue.  Appreciate the feedback.
