Is Smokeball still supporting the Android phone app? I don’t recall receiving an update in a while, and have experienced some cliches with it.

Anyone have any information on this?

Peace

Hi @WichitaLawyer

I am going to send this to our Support team to see if they can help with your issues with the Android app.

I’ve recently switched from iPhone to Android and have spent hours trying to get Smokeball some form of Communicate notifications. The Communicate app shows as depreciated (tech speak for “no longer in service”). I’ve been trying to configure chrome to provide notifications, and have tried 3 different programs/apps to take the Windows Notification Center to trigger a notification on my phone, a text message, an email or something, anything! So far no success. My clients are accustomed to me responding to their communicate messages like texts. I usually respond w/in minutes, so this has become an important part of my practice. Any help will be appreciated.

Summary of Attempts

  • Confirmed Smokeball messages appear in Windows Notification Center.
  • Verified Join app and API sendPush URL works (browser test successfully sends notification to phone).
  • Tried Microsoft Phone Link, but it only mirrors phone → PC, not PC → phone.
  • Attempted PowerShell watcher using wpndatabase.db (blocked by execution policy).
  • Considered AutoHotkey toast detection and third-party forwarders (EZ Notification Forwarder, ntfy).
  • Goal: Push Smokeball message alerts from PC to Android in real time.
