When it comes to rankings, we care most about how our clients rank our product, and how it works for them and helps them streamline their workflow while growing their practice, but it sure is nice to get kudos from others who are experts in the legal software arena!

Thank you to Julian Blake of The Legal Practice for your ranking of the 10 Best Real Estate Law Software Reviewed in 2026, and for awarding us the top spot. We adore our real estate firms and work hard to provide features and functionality that helps their specific practice in that area of law. 

The Legal Practice has been testing and reviewing legal software since 2023 as legal tech researchers that dig deep into products to see what works. We are not affiliated with them in any way, and learned of this accolade through a happy client who mentioned it in passing to one of our staff members. 

What Julian liked about Smokeball is how well we understand a small law firm’s needs, with our user-friendly interface and rich functionality, like our robust document automation system and reporting tools, as well as automatic time tracking. We can be a bit complex, he notes, but that’s the price of being feature-rich. I am about the same age as Microsoft Excel, and while I know anecdotally how much you can do with it, my decks still look like a petulant child cobbled them together. I’ll learn it! I swear! But for now, I can easily do what I need to do with it, and I figure that some of our users are like that.
