In wrongful death PI cases, who are we putting as the “client”? I’ve been using Smokeball since 2017 and I haven’t really settled on the best way to handle this yet.

In PI matter type in IL “deceased” contact card can be added to Plaintiff. This would allow deceased to be separate matter data from plaintiff which would track my understanding of party designations.

Hi Taylor,
We do have a deceased card for these instances. However some firms will put the deceased as the first plaintiff and the people representing the deceased as plaintiffs 2 and 3. The second method will require you to create a special caption for deceased parties. Whichever method you choose just make sure that the templates that you create are using the correct fields for the information that you need.
