Hello.

Being nice has gotten too expensive, and I want to implement surcharges for LawPay payments.

I did my research, and decided on a strategy, but when I engaged LawPay, I was given the following feedback …

Can anyone provide any hints, tips, or hacks to easily implement surcharges while using the Smokeball and LawPay integration?

Thanks, all!

What a timely post!  Today, we rolled out the ability to surcharge credit cards with Smokeball Payments.  You can find out more about it here.

@mjjohnson Lawpay bought out MyCase. AffiniPay, Parent Company of LawPay, Acquires MyCase from Apax Funds | LawPayFacebookTwitterLinkedInFacebookTwitterLinkedIn

I wouldn’t be surprised if that is a MyCase only feature.

Smokeball has its own payments solution… “Smokeball Payments” (also “feewise”?). Our firm has been using Smokeball Payments for a year. Likewise, Clio has its own payments solution now called “Clio Payments”. Somehow, I doubt that LawPay and Smokeball are going to work on improving their integrations. I suggest that you consider making a feature request to Smokeball Payments. Clio allows adding surcharges to their payments solution. I agree that this would be a very useful feature.

@Sara Sultan There is an email for Smokeball Payment’s support on the website, support@getfeewise.com, but as an integration partner do they have a point of contact on the forum here? Should feature suggestions such as to add the “surcharge” ability present in LawPay and Clio Payments be sent to their support email?

@JKibler thanks so much for the informative response.  Does feewise have an integration with Smokeball that accommodates surcharges?

Alternatively, are there other solutions as well?
