Smokeball Client Portal - Event Cancellation Notifications

We’ve recently started experiencing an issue with calendar events and wanted to see if anyone else is running into the same problem.

When we update an existing event in Smokeball - specifically when the client has been added as a party - the client receives a cancellation notice, even though the event itself is not being cancelled.

At first, I thought this may have been user error or a one-off misunderstanding, but it has now happened multiple times over the past two weeks. I just ran a test myself and confirmed that simply updating the event triggered a cancellation notification to the client.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so:

  • Is this a known issue or recent change?

  • Is there a workaround to prevent the cancellation notice from being sent when making updates?

Appreciate any insight—this is obviously causing some confusion on the client side.

As ​@Sara Sultan promised this has been passed through to me. I have recently moved teams at Smokeball & I am now the Product Manager who looks after this area.
