Sharing documents with other law firms

Yes, you can use Smokeball’s Client Portal to share documents securely with other firms. The firm you are sharing the documents with does not need to have Smokeball installed.

Good luck-- the Client Portal is intended for clients, not other law firms. After sending another law firm hundreds of written discovery via the Client Portal, we discovered there isn’t a “select all” button to checkmark all of the documents before downloading (once you manually check every doc, you can then download at once). In searching old posts, it appears the old system had an easy “download all” button which has been removed.

Smokeball’s whole process for document handling during discovery (e.g. document de-duplication, document review, document sharing with other firms, etc.) could be substantially improved.  Happy to share thoughts if anybody at Smokeball reads this.
