Is there a way to narrow a search within a matter to just one type of document.  For example, can I just search for PDFs or Word documents saved in a matter?

@PDavis yes, i do this frequently. I think the matter file search does a string search against the entire file name and extension. So if you search “.pdf” (without the quotes works) it will only search pdfs. Other common file types I search for are:

.DOCX for modern Microsoft word;

.XLSX for modern microsoft excel; and,

.msg for outlook emails.

Hello @PDavis

We currently only have a document type filter in our global search feature.  Product usually goes through the Community and will likely see your feedback, but it is most helpful if you submit a feature suggestion here.
