  1. I have bookmarked many pdf files and SB does not retain the bookmarks. Is there a trick or does SB simply not allow full function of Adobe’s features?
  2. When combining 2 or more pdfs outside of SB, I am forced to first save the combined pdf somewhere before saving it to SB. Is there a trick or does SB simply not allow full function of Adobe’s features?
  3. Combining pdfs will auto-bookmark each pdf, but the bookmarks are deleted when the combined pdf is saved in SB. Is there a trick or does SB simply not allow full function of Adobe’s features?

@MOverton below is my understanding of this subject:

  1. When you open a pdf file from SB and adjust it including bookmarks, using the save icon in adobe will save the changes back to SB. That is the only method to save your changes back to SB. I am able to save bookmarks back to SB using this method.
  2. When you create a combined PDF in adobe, adobe is creating a new file. The new file must be imported into SB. Unlike with Microsoft Word, Smokeball does not have an “add in” for Adobe Acrobat that you can use to “Save to Matter”.
  3. I am not aware of this issue. You may want to verify that the bookmarks are working in the combined file once saved from adobe (reopen the file in adobe and check them) before you save to SB.
