Is there a way to program your own Billing Types?

We have different hourly rates for different corporate clients.  Is there a way to set up our own billing types so we can configure matters using that set of rates?  For example… Instead of Fixed Fee or Contingency, we would use a Billing Type of DCE Liquor so that all billing on that file would be at the specific negotiated hourly rate with them?  Then, another case, we could chose Star Service so their, different, hourly rates are applied?

Smokeball is currently working on adding “rate sets” so you can do this.  I have no official release date.  All I can say is that it is coming very soon (before end of year).  Remember to update your Smokeball whenever prompted!  Please see this article for new release notes for US clients and this for AU clients.

We’re looking for an answer as well for our negotiated institutional clients. Haven’t found one yet, but hoping there is one...

In the interim, we override the billing rates on a matter by matter basis...

Wondering if this update has ever been completed- we would like to have one billing rate for a certain matter type and a different billing rate for a different matter type for example one rate for all guardianship matters and one rate for all estate plan matters - without having to go in and change the default rate each time -

@JThiery. Create a rate set in Time and Billing as pictured below. Then create matter templates for the matter type and apply the rate set in the matter template under info, billing.
