Is there a way to be notified of a task being marked as completed by someone else that was assigned to the task?

Hey there ​@jkgreenstone - there is no notification for Task completion, regardless of whether you were the Assignee or creator of the Task. If you wanted to keep tabs on the status of a Task, I would suggest you navigate to the Tasks list, then to the Completed view, and select the Assignees you wanted to keep tabs on to see when the Task(s) are shown in this view as completed. If you would like to discuss this with someone on the Product team, like this reply and I will reach out and schedule a call.

We are also looking to revamp our Notifications solution that could help with this - I will make sure that ​@Michelle Jenkyns or ​@Emma reaches out to discuss your needs and see if we have a synergy.

I think we would also like a feature where you can choose to be notified when a task is completed. I know many of my tasks to clerks say “complete XYZ and let me know when done”. It would be nice to not have that extra step. 

There needs to be a toggle on each task to turn on notifications for the task if desired. This setting should be included in workflows.

Yes! Also, a notification when a task is assigned - through the Messages app/tab, please. Currently, when I want to notify staff that I’ve assigned a task, I use the “phone message” feature so an email is sent...but I don’t use that often as its not ideal. More often, I create a task and then send a message that I’ve created a task and I do not like that inefficiency. 

There is the bell symbol at the top right of SB that gets a red notification number when tasks have been assigned. Is that not sufficient? 

Every day, my bell shows that there are 9+ notifications. It never changes, I never get a notice that there’s a new task or event  even when I checked to see those notifications, it remains at 9+, it doesn’t make a sound, it doesn’t provide any pop-up message. It is the equivalent of an alarm bell that is always ringing, so must be ignored.
