Invoice not sent but viewed by client?!


 

Can anyone tell me how the client ‘viewed’ the invoice above for $1599.74 when it had not been sent from billing nor in an email.

That’s happened to us as well. 

Purely conjecture, but I think once you finalize a new invoice -- even though not emailed or shared -- they have access to it should they have used the QRC code or link from a prior invoice.

Makes it awkward if said invoice was not yet ready for prime time.

This happens if you have eInvoices enabled.  Once finalized it is available in their client portal.  

 

 


This was a new client and we do not use the client portal. This has never happened before and yes, was very embarrassing, as the funds were to be paid at settlement.

Can you please clarify/confirm my conjecture above, that once an invoice is finalized, that a client can view any finalized invoice should they have been sent a links to our e-billing in the past?   

As ​@adminbarrowlegal mentioned, if not the e-billing link, then is there another access point for clients to access finalized invoices?

Finally, can clients see ‘draft’ invoices (geez, I hope not!).

@adminbarrowlegal the client portal is not directly related to the eInvoices.  You can have eInvoices turned on without using the portal.  If you have sent an invoice prior on the matter, and have eInvoices enabled, the client will be able to use the link on that email to view the old invoice to see any new finalised invoices.  

 

@JG3 only Final invoices are viewable in the eInvoices. 


The client had been sent emails but this was the first invoice generated for this client - so still doesn’t make sense to me
