Doe Defendants

How do you automate adding Doe defendants to a pleading caption?  For example:  John Smith v. Betsy Jones, and Does 1 through 20, inclusive.  Under Matter Details, we would list John Smith as the plaintiff and Betsy Jones as the defendant for inputting to our pleading caption template, but we haven’t figured out a way to add the Doe defendants without adding them as another defendant.

So 4 options that I can think of offhand. Would love to know what our other users think. 

  1. Create a Container that has it built into the caption hardcoded as text or as an ask to ask what to put in the caption for that spot. 
  2. Put it in as a defendant. 
    Or
  3. Create one defendant only for all Does and right click on it and override the legal description to what you want to pull to the caption for the full legal description field. 
  4. Book a session with an automation training to go over this.
