I would like to allow staff to see their own activity under the Activity view, but not see other people’s. I can’t see a setting for this - is anyone able to assist?

Hello Stephen,

If you set the staff permissions to only allow them to see their time entries it will also limit them to only being able to see their activity. See this Support hub article on Managing staff and user permissions.

Sara, this is a ridiculous limitation. There are many firm-wide reporting features that are accessible to all users that are ordinarily not appropriate. Making these two things (time entry visibility and work-based activity) interlinked seems strange. Is there a compelling reason why it was built this way? One concerns time entries, which is really just billing on a file, the other concerns what actual work (tasks, memos, docs) has been completed. Yes, I understand the ability to add time entries from activity is valuable and does link these two things, but from my perspective, I see this leading to division between staff members, as it is very easy for staff to compare their workload, overall billing and efficiency from a more holistic level. Excellent for office managers and principal solicitors, but less so administrative staff and paralegals.

@Christopher I believe a new permissions build out is being looked at. It might resolve your concern. @Sam King
