That is exactly what it is meant to do.  You can include a hyperlink to an external website using that option.

Sure!  Depending on the area of law, some firms will use some of our Partners through the Marketplace.  For instance, our Family Property integration allows your clients to fill in information in balance sheets and parenting questionnaires.  You can send the link for the balance sheets and questionnaires via our Link option in Messages.  

Also for when you want to collaborate on a document with a client, you can send a link to a Google Doc, SharePoint, DropBox etc. for them to have read/write access as our Portal is currently read only.
