2025 Year in Review

As Smokeball closes out 2025, we’re celebrating everything you accomplished. The matters opened, documents organized, deadlines managed, and conversations that kept your clients moving forward. Behind every click and every case was your commitment to delivering exceptional legal service, and we’re proud to support that work.

This year, Smokeball focused on delivering updates that gave you more control, deeper customization, smoother workflows, and smarter automation. Whether your firm needed greater visibility, more flexible matter management, or tools that cut manual effort, 2025 brought meaningful improvements to help you work with confidence and clarity.

2025 Product Highlights: Saving time, gaining flexibility, and driving your firm forward

This year’s enhancements focused on helping your firm operate more efficiently, stay better organized, and tailor Smokeball to the way you work.

Greater visibility & control

Updates like additional matter roles and enhanced permissions gave your team more precision in how information is seen, shared, and managed. Clearer ownership and access meant smoother workflows across your firm.

More flexible firm & document organization

From customizable document containers for multi-branch firms to branded portal emails, 2025 brought new ways to shape Smokeball around your structure and client experience.

Smarter automation & streamlined templates

Improvements to online template customization and access to a richer template library meant creating consistent, polished documents with fewer steps and errors.

AI Innovation that strengthens productivity and accuracy

Archie AI continued to transform everyday legal work, answering 350,000+ questions, speeding up drafting, summarizing documents, and helping reduce time spent on routine communication.

And this year, we expanded the way AI supports your practice with the introduction of LawY: a legal research tool that allows you to validate AI-generated insights with real human legal professionals, giving your team an added layer of confidence and security.

Together, Archie and LawY will bring both speed and reliability to your practice.

It would be great to get some improvement in the customer support area.  I have several unresolved tickets. Often a support representative responds to an email support request with a phone call despite my expressed request for email support.  Then they close the ticket when though the issue isn't resolved. If there weren't so many bugs maybe this wouldn't be an issue. Nonetheless,  Smokeball support is really below the industry standard.
