Welcome to the May 2026 Legal Content update! This month we released new Planning and Environment Matter Types for QLD, updated a raft of forms and released new and improved reports. Let’s dive into the highlights below.
New Planning and Environment Category
This month we released the following for Queensland:
- Planning and Environment Advice Matter type;
- Planning and Environment Litigation Matter type; and
- Planning and Environment Lead.
We also released a new suite of automated Planning and Environment Court forms.
New Estate Planning General Matter Types
We have also released a new Estate Planning General Matter Type for NSW, QLD and VIC which provides a good catch-all for those matters that don’t fit under the existing matter types.
Form and Precedent Updates
This month we released updates to the following suites in the Precedent Library:

VIC Magistrates Court > Intervention Order Forms;

Department of Home Affairs Forms;

VCAT Forms;

QLD Domestic Violence Forms; and
-
QLD Criminal Practice Rules Forms.
- For NSW: NSW Annexure A for Commercial Lease 2021 and Retail Lease 2021 > we have now updated our offering to include the Annexure A for the Retail Lease and for the Commercial Lease.

Marketplace Precedents: Improvements to the FLENA precedents, including P2,P3, P5, P14, P21, CO3, SP4A, SP4B and SP4C. The Court Forms have also been removed from the suite on the basis that members can rely on the Smokeball Court Forms provided and updated.
Report Updates
We are excited to announce that the new 'AML - Execution Report' has been released and is now available. It can be accessed in Desktop Reports under the Standard Reports category.
This month we also released a number of report improvements:
- The "Lead - Marketing Report" in Smokeball Desktop Reports has been updated to include a “Cost Estimate” field. This field can be accessed by enabling it under the Included Columns filter.
- The “Event List” report in Smokeball desktop has been enhanced with a new “File Type” filter, allowing users to filter results by selecting Matters, Leads, or All from the dropdown options. By default, the report now includes both Matters and Leads, with the option to filter by file type as needed.
Additionally, Matter Type and Matter Tag fields are now available within the Included Columns filter, providing greater flexibility when customising the report. - The “AML - Report” within Smokeball reports has been updated to include a new “Risk Assessment” filter. The “Save Filters as Firm Default” functionality has also been incorporated into this filter.
