Happy New Year and welcome to the first Legal Content update of 2026! This will be a shorter update following the end of year break, but here are the exciting new features that are now available:
New Taxation Matter Category
The new Tax Advice (Federal) Matter Type is now available under the Taxation Matter Category. This new Matter Type provides contact cards for tax advice and planning and can be used for Federal or State tax advice.
Conveyancing (WA) Amendments
The Settlement Statement Layout now has a field for you to enter the Adjustment Date if the Adjustment Date is different to the Settlement Date when calculating Time Related Adjustments.
Corresponding Settlement Statements have been amended to return the ‘Adjustment of Rates/Taxes as at’ date to be the Adjustment Date when it is different to the Settlement Date or it will default to the Settlement Date.
When there is an Adjustment Date that is different to the Settlement Date, a new line will appear in the title of the document to show the Adjustment date:

Family Law Forms Updates
Following the Court’s updates in December 2025, we have also updated the following forms in the Precedent Library:
- Balance Sheet: this been updated to remove references to addbacks.
- Superannuation Information Kit: Changes to instruction pages only.
- Application for Consent Orders (Automated and Non-Automated versions): Changes to instruction pages and minor changes at 32 and 37 changing wording of “paragraph” to “section”.
- Financial Statement: Changes to instruction pages only.
The Court has given a grace period until 30 January 2026 to file the old versions of the forms.
